Planning your project

STEP 1 : THE INTERVIEW

We will arrange with you a time to take a look at the project. At this time we will answer any questions you may have about our reputation, skills & experience. Feel free to ask about anything you don’t understand, including terminology. At this meeting we will provide you with a list of references as well as a certificate of our liability insurance.

STEP 2: ASSESSING YOUR PROJECT

We will work up an estimate on your project based on: time, materials, skill level & design intensity. All of our estimates are good for 30 days from date of proposal. We collect a 10% deposit on labor to guarantee your project a place on our schedule. All material costs are collected 1 week prior to starting project. Often material costs are due much earlier due to ordering & shipping time.

STEP 3: THE CONTRACT

Every project we do, no matter how small is covered by a contract.

  • WE ACCEPT CASH, CHECK, & CREDIT CARDS.
  • IN ORDER TO KEEP OUR COSTS AS LOW AS POSSIBLE CREDIT CARD FEES ARE ADDED ONLY WHEN NECESSARY.
  • A 1.9% - 2.9% TRANSACTION FEE IS ADDED TO ALL CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS.
  • MATERIAL FUNDS ARE DUE AT START OF PROJECT.
  • PAYMENTS ARE DUE ON A PERCENT COMPLETE BASIS.
  • ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE ON DEMAND, OR PROGRESS ON PROJECT MAY BE AFFECTED AS A RESULT OF NON-PAYMENT.
  • A 2% LATE CHARGE IS ADDED TO EVERY WEEK A PAYMENT IS PAST DUE.

As a standard practice, once final bid is agreed upon and signed, a deposit of 10% on labor will be needed to guarantee your project a spot on the schedule. A customer signature accepts proposed work as satisfactorily to be performed and agrees to workmanlike manner according to standard practices. Any alteration or deviation for above specifications involving extra cost will be executed only upon written orders, and will become an extra charge over our control. Customer agrees to pay on demand all costs and expenses incurred in connection with the collection of amounts due under the estimate/invoice including, but not limited to legal and out of pocket expenses. Warranty on labor is valid for one year from date of installation. Consent is given for filing of mechanic’s leins by any person who supplied material or services for the work described in this contract on the property on which it is located, if they are not paid, including all reasonable attorneys fees, you also agree to pay all costs, including reasonable attorneys fees, incurred by Restoring Bliss Construction Company in collecting this account. Any alteration or deviation from above specifications involving extra costs, will be executed only upon written orders, and will become an extra charge over and above the estimate. Agreements contingent upon strikes, accidents or delays beyond Restoring Bliss’ control. Owner to carry fire, tornado, and other necessary insurance upon above work.

NOTES:

  1. This agreement is considered confidential between customer and Restoring Bliss Construction Company and not to be dispensed, copied or reproduced in any matter without the written authorization of a Restoring Bliss representative. Legal action will be taken to the fullest extent, in the event of any disclosure of this proposal.
  2. In case typographical error, Restoring Bliss Construction Company reserves the right to correct and resubmit without penalty.
  3. Proposal effective for thirty (30) days of proposal date.
  4. Furniture removal and replacement responsibility of owner. Restoring Bliss not responsible for damages incurred due to furniture moving.
  5. The drawings, samples and all material submitted as a part of this quotation remains sole property of Restoring Bliss, until payment is made in full.
  6. Any abnormal conditions at the time of demolition and work will be billed as an extra on a time and material basis. Restoring Bliss will not be responsible for unforeseen changes to be made per an inspector’s request.

STEP 4: CHOOSING YOUR DESIGN

Once your contract is signed, we will schedule a design consultation to discuss & finalize layout. We work with you the customer every step of the process from choosing fixtures, finishes, and flooring to appliances and cabinetry. We will schedule as many design consultations as needed for each and every project. We want your project to have that wow factor that you can’t stop talking and smiling about.

STEP 5: THE CHECKLIST

Timing - Once contract is signed we will provide you with a weather permitting start date. We are upfront and realistic with customers about timelines and always meet our deadlines.

Experience – Whether it is a whole house renovation or just a built in bookcase we are an experienced contractor that has already faced most typical problems and how to solve them. We do work in the Metropolitan St. Louis area and know about local building codes and practices and where to get best materials for the most competitive prices.

Supervision - We will let you know as soon as project begins who will be supervising. This person will have the authority to resolve minor complaints as well as communicate with you.

Permits - Any permits required for projects will be applied for by Restoring Bliss.

Collaboration – We are happy to work side by side with an architect on just about any project. Housekeeping - Restoring Bliss will protect your house during construction and clean up messes at the end of each day. Restoring Bliss does ask that the homeowners remove all furniture and accessories from room(s) prior to work beginning.

Change Orders – If you change your mind about something we use written change orders to manage the process. The order will describe the change and what it will cost and will require the homeowner’s signature.

Liability – Restoring Bliss carries liability insurance and is always happy to provide proof of insurance. We also provide unconditional lein waivers upon final progress payments. Unconditional lein waivers are only provided after checks have been deposited and cleared the bank.

Warranty – Restoring Bliss guarantees our workmanship while some contractors consider themselves finished after final inspection, Restoring Bliss comes back to take care of any problems up to one year after job is completed..

Contact – If you notice a problem the best chance to resolve it is to contact the office immediately @ 314- 772- 3963. When your project has begun you will be given an alternate number to contact in case of emergency.
